1. Grants for Counselling and Welfare

Comic Relief - UK Grant Programme Comic Relief awards grants for projects that will benefit refugees, the young, the elderly and the disadvantaged in a wide variety of relevant fields across the UK.


Trusthouse Charitable Foundation Grants are available to charitable and not-for-profit organisations in the UK. Funding is directed towards projects that fall within the Foundation's priority areas: Health and Disability; Community Support; and Arts, Education and Heritage. Funding is available for revenue or capital costs.

2. Grants for Arts

Arts Council England: Grants for the Arts Support for arts activities that benefit people in England or that help artists and arts organisations to carry out their work. Supported aims of the programme include helping more people to take part in the arts and helping the development of artists, arts organisations and the creative economy.


Heritage Lottery Fund - Heritage Grants Funding for projects relating to the national, regional or local heritage of the UK which aim to conserve and enhance diverse heritage and/or encourage more people to be involved in their heritage. Projects should also ensure individuals can learn about, have access to and enjoy heritage.

3. Grants for Youth Groups

Four Acre Trust The Trust aims to support registered charities in the United Kingdom that give individuals - mainly children and young people - help in making the most of their lives in the form of mentoring schemes, youth work in local communities, respite breaks and holidays, school holiday activity schemes and adventure, and other training centres. The Trust prefers to support local, district or small national organisations that have low reserves and broadly spend all their income on charitable works, and are particularly interested in supporting charities that have a high level of volunteer involvement. The Trust will also consider overseas funding projects for the provision of eye care.


Youth Opportunity and Youth Capital Funds Funding delivered by local authorities in England for young people to control and decide how it should be spent on positive activities and youth facilities in their area. The involvement of young people is central to the Funds.

4. Grants for the Elderly

Tesco Charity Trust - Community Award Scheme Support is available to local community projects which support the welfare of children and children's education projects, including special needs schools or for projects related to elderly people and people with disabilities. Support is available in the UK in areas where Tesco has stores.


Yapp Charitable Trust Grants are given to small registered charities in England and Wales for work with elderly people, children and young people aged 5-25 years, people with disabilities or mental health problems, people with a history of offending, addiction or abuse, and education and learning. The Trust also makes grants to sustain small charities' work in the fields of education and learning.


Concertina Charitable Trust Grants are available to charitable organisations in England and Wales to improve the quality of life of elderly members of society, through musical entertainment and related activities.


Rank Foundation The main areas for funding are developing leadership amongst young people, work with the elderly, the disabled and with young people, and the promotion of Christian principles through film and other media.

5. Grants for all Groups

Awards For All (England) Funding for projects in England which aim to help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need.


Reaching Communities (England) This demand-led programme encourages voluntary and community organisations to identify their own local ideas for funding. It will support projects that improve the quality of life of communities across England, offering help where it is most needed.


Essex Community Foundation - General Grants The Foundation awards grants to voluntary or community groups and charitable organisations that are working for the benefit of people in Essex, Southend or Thurrock.


Essex Environment Trust Support for environmental projects in Essex that fall under the following categories: restoration of derelict land; prevention of pollution; maintenance of public amenities; conservation or promotion of biological diversity; or the restoration of buildings for worship or of historic/architectural interest.


Sport England: Small Grants Programme The Sport England Small Grants Programme has been set up to support local community sport projects which seek to increase participation, sustain participation or develop opportunities for people to excel at their chosen sport in England.


Lloyds TSB Foundation for England & Wales Grants are available to support underfunded charitable organisations in England and Wales that help disadvantaged people to play a fuller role in the community of their choice.


Gannett Foundation Fund The Foundation provides funding to support registered charities in areas in which Newsquest publications are circulated. Grants are available for a range of community projects that take a creative approach to local fundamental issues.
